Hysteroscopy

The hysteroscope is a small fiber-optic device that allows visualization inside of the uterus. The uterus is filled with saline causing it to expand making uterine fibroids and polyps visible. Often, these obstructions can be removed using the hysteroscope. This test is conducted in our office and an anesthesiologist will provide intravenous sedation so that the patient will typically neither feel nor remember any part of the procedure.
